Brown: Eight Years of Barack Obama Have Brought Us Eight Years of Failed Leadership

"It's time for new leadership in Washington, D.C. in order to get our country back on track"

WASHINGTON - Indiana Third Congressional District candidate and Indiana State Senator, Liz Brown, issued the following response to President Barack Obama's final State of the Union address:

"Eight years of Barack Obama have brought us eight years of failed leadership, and the American people have suffered as a result. The President would like us to believe, as he attempted to present in his final State of the Union, that he is leaving America in a better position than when he took office. He wants to focus on his pet projects of gun control, climate change and closing Guantanamo Bay.

"Unfortunately for the President and his Democratic Party, Americans are keenly aware of the real State of the Union. Millions remain out of work or underemployed. The national debt has nearly doubled, with future generations footing the bill. Obamacare has been a disaster. Our top status on the foreign policy stage has been diminished. And Obama continues to send our tax dollars to his friends in the abortion industry, despite Planned Parenthood's involvement in the harvesting and trafficking of baby parts.

"It's time for new leadership in Washington, D.C. in order to get our country back on track. I am ready to head to Washington and offer a desperately-needed new type of leadership. I won't be bound by special interests. Rather, I will fight every day for the good people of Indiana's Third Congressional District. I will advocate tirelessly for conservative principles that shrink the size of government and give control back to the people."

Liz Brown, a Republican, seeks to represent Indiana's Third Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Brown currently serves Indiana Senate District 15 in the state legislature and is a former member of the Fort Wayne City Council. She has a long history of community involvement including roles with Boys and Girls Clubs, Cub Scouts, Parkview Hospital Ethics Committee, Notre Dame Club of Fort Wayne and various school boards. As a registered Civil and Domestic Mediator with her own mediation business, Liz maintains a number of associations in the legal field. Liz and her husband of 33 years, Steve, have seven children.

Brown Statement on Pence’s Suspension of Refugee Settlement

“The safety and security of America’s citizens is our top priority”

FORT WAYNE, IND – Indiana Third Congressional District candidate and Indiana State Senator, Liz Brown, offered the following statement on Ind. Gov. Mike Pence’s decision this week to suspend the refugee settlement program:

“The safety and security of America’s citizens is our top priority. Gov. Pence’s decision to suspend the refugee settlement in Indiana until serious security concerns are addressed is prudent. Our federal government needs to offer infallible assurances that anyone seeking refugee status has no terrorist ties and no intent to harm American citizens.

“The Paris attacks demonstrate that ISIS is determined to take lives and disrupt Western civilization. ISIS has grown under President Obama’s watch and clearly is not contained. We need leaders in Washington who are ready to stand up to these perpetrators of evil.”
